I'm looking into buying a used car and was wondering if a) anyone would be interested in helping me out and b)what are the initial steps for registering/buying/getting insurance for the state of Massachusetts?

After 3.5 years of living in MA, I finally switched my driver's license from WA to MA and now considered a resident.

I'm back from Georgia and what a great time I had! It's hard to describe everything that I saw and experienced, but here are a few pictures of the week.

Day one was spent building a wheelchair ramp.
Beginning stages:

And after 9 hours, all done!

We also climbed Stone Mountain at 7am to watch the sun rise.

FODAC's warehouse full of scooters, wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, etc

Messing around in the thrift store....I always wanted to be a blonde!

Spring break this year will be spent in Stone Mountain, GA doing service work with Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). It's part of the Alternative Spring Break trips that BU puts on every year. As a grad student I can go as a chaperone for free! What better way to serve and travel!

Yesterday I met our team for the first time. Total of 13 volunteers (2 coordinators, me, and 10 volunteers). Young minds but big hearts. Should be interesting...considering there is only 1 dude amongst all of us.

What I wanted to share is this clip that was presented to us yesterday regarding older adults (new PC term for elderly). This was submitted to the AARP U@50 commercial challenge. Take a look, I found it cleverly done.

This is why I am in this profession...

During our traumatic brain injury (TBI) neuro lab yesterday, we got to work with 3 patients who had a TBI and their families. Hearing their stories brought tears into many eyes...

I never thought I'd be so interested in the neuro population, but as each semester passes, my heart leans towards this patient population. I thoroughly enjoy this profession!!

You can hear one of the patient's story if you follow the link below. His wife submitted an application to the Extreme Makeover/Home Edition a few years ago and well.....you can see/hear what happens!

Extreme Makeover, Part 1 (of 5)

It's a 5-part series, but you can follow the others as each clip finishes. Enjoy!

How I spent my Valentine's Day...

My friend Jenn and I took a day trip up to the North Shore to visit our dear friend Peggy. Peggy has to be one of my favorite people out there...I got to know her better while we served in Greece last summer and then got to travel together for a few days.

Here are some pictures from the day....the original plan was to go XC skiing, but the snow had melted all of the trails, so we decided to do some leisure walking along several of the beautiful beaches in the North Shore.
